Simple tips for anxiety support

Life is ever more pressured and increasingly more and more people struggle with anxiety in their daily lives. You are not alone. Anxiety or fear of the future or the unknown is a normal reaction to change or stress. It’s when it becomes your default or you’re struggling to function that it's time to reach out for support.

Here are four some simple things you can do to support yourself when feeling anxious.

  1. Just breathe

Taking deep breaths in and out, counting in to the count of 2 and then counting out to the count of 4 gives the mind a focus and instantly calms the nervous system.

2. Stretch

Stand upright and reach up your arms with your fingertips and rise up onto your tiptoes, lengthening through the entire body. Bringing yoru awareness back into your body helps to reduce the overly mental focus which can cause anxiety.

3. EFT Tapping

Learning the basic EFT tapping technique is wonderful support and then using this during times you feel anxious.

4. Grounding

Feet flat on the floor or the earth, standing strong, focusing on your body and connection to the earth, imagining deep roots extending down into the earth.
